Palm Springs has blossomed into a world class resort destination. The population making it the largest city in the county by land area. Golf, swimming, tennis, biking, hiking and horseback riding in the nearby desert and mountain areas are major forms of recreation in Palm Springs.

Aesop use nature ingredients and created with meticulous attention to detail. They believe being well inside and out will improve our lives. Application of a topical formulation is only one part of healthy skin care. Diet, moderate exercise, and a healthy attitude are equally important. They also been conscious of personal lifestyle choices. They launched products in response to genuine needs expressed by their clients.

The circulation of the resort is created to be both discrete and coherent, allowing guests privacy on their own way to take the experience.

Both left and right paths can lead guests to check in. The public space and guest room are at different sides of the check in desk. The hotel is designed to keep personal space and public space separate. Guests can reach their rooms without the need to pass through public space.

After passing by the front desk, guests would enter the indoor pool area. The two SPA treatment room are accessible from here also. The SPA nourishes the skin, and lifts the spirit. Facials done with Aesop products nourish the skin, taking into consideration the relationship between the spirit and senses.

The glass divides the indoor hot spring from the outdoor pool, also providing panoramic mountain views. Guests can fully experience Palm Spring’s sunshine, outside by the pool, in the shadow of the mountains.

The left side of the building serves as public space, and can be accessed from the middle of the building. Walking in, the bar welcomes you.

The lounge contains a sense of personal experience which is hidden behind of the bar. The area of the hotel that provides public spaces has large viewing windows, and is closer to parking. The pool is also adjacent.

Hallway
Guestooms are over the public space, which is the quieter side of the building. The narrow hallway with double walls and material changes, amplify the personal space.


Rather than use walls to divide space, the furniture divides the space. Behind the bed, the closet has and adjustable sliding door, allowing guests to customize the space.

Opposite of the sleeping area, the bathroom has a window view of the mountains which can be enjoyed from the bath.


The shower hidden behind the sink. The totally hidden bath with Aesop product could soak away the stress of the day and banish dry, tired skin while promoting emotional stability, soothe the mind.

Aesop Boutique Resort create customized experience thought the material selection. The selection of materials for Aesop boutique resort material selection focuses on meticulous attention to detail, with an emphasis on natural elements.
In my design, I want to amplify all the macroscopic details on each material, texture and finish. Through applying different materials with similar color, or slight saturation changes - different finishes and handcraft texture imperfections are emphasized.
The all-over gray tones make the whole space more harmonious and calm. Subtle changes will cause people to intuitively observe and feel their surroundings. Natural elements and meticulous details bring sensory pleasure to a guest’s soul.
